Exercise Programs

At Home Active Physiotherapy, we want to help you achieve your exercise goals. Whether you are recovering from injury, aiming to prevent an injury, or training for a marathon, we have a program for you. Our programs are tailored towards your individual goals after a thorough initial assessment, and are updated with regular re-assessment checkpoints to track your progress and ensure you achieve your goals.

We also supplement our programs with educational material, to ensure that your exercise habits are sustainable into the future.

The Home Active Process

All of our programs begin with an obligation and cost-free exercise discussion, to help us to understand who you are as a person, your history, your current activity levels, and your goals. This session allows us to develop a program to suit your needs and help you achieve your goals. 

We offer 3 levels of program, from Foundational Strength – one exercise routine to be performed 2-3 times per week -, to Live Active – a daily exercise plan. Once your program has been developed, we will then spend a 60-minute session teaching you the correct technique to ensure that you are performing the exercises safely and effectively. An additional 30-minute session may be required to teach all of the exercises.

As it takes times to see clinical changes in strength, and to build lasting habits, all of our programs last for 12 weeks. During these 12 weeks you can elect to perform the program on your own, or link in with one of our supervised sessions, either one-on-one, or in a group setting. These sessions are used to correct your technique, progress exercise difficulty, and ensure that you get the most out of your program. In order to most accurately progress your program, we recommend checking in at least every 4-6 weeks.

At the conclusion of your program, we will touch base with another free exercise discussion. The purpose of this session will be to review your program, see how you have progressed towards your goals, and discuss an ongoing plan for your physical activity. For those who still haven’t quite reached their goals, or have developed new ones, this session may also be used to kick off another 12-week cycle.

The Platform

All of our programs are created through PhysiApp, a state-of-the-art exercise platform that allows you to complete your prescribed exercise program by following crystal-clear, narrated exercise videos. PhysiApp also comes equipped with a messenger function, meaning that your physiotherapist is only a click away to guide you through any questions or concerns that may arise during your program.
