Home Active Physiotherapy COVID-19 Policy

At Home Active Physiotherapy, the health and wellbeing of our clients is our top priority. As such we have enacted the following precautions in order to ensure safety and reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Stage 4 Restrictions

Under Stage 4, face-to-face physiotherapy is only permitted for those risking a significant functional decline or hospitalisation by delaying treatment.

All clients will be screened prior to their appointment to ensure that face-to-face treatment is absolutely essential. For those who do not meet the criteria for face-to-face treatment, Telehealth is strongly recommended. Those who decline Telehealth will be offered a face-to-face consultations once for restrictions have eased and it is deemed safe to provide usual care.

For those who qualify for face-to-face treatment, the following points apply:

Our Practice

Physical contact will be limited and social distancing of 1.5m will be applied wherever possible.

  • Some aspects of the physiotherapy profession, including manual therapy and close supervision for falls and balance clients, will require closer contact.
  • In these cases, your physiotherapist will ensure that hands are sanitised prior to each separate contact.

Surfaces and equipment will be wiped down in between each client, as per our existing hygiene practices.

Single-use masks will be worn by physiotherapists at all times. These will be disposed of and replaced after each client.

Face shields will be worn by physiotherapists at all times. These will be replaced and cleaned thoroughly after each client.

Single use gloves are not currently mandated but can be worn upon client request.

Clients will be contacted immediately if a physiotherapist tests positive for COVID-19, or comes in contact with a confirmed case.

Physiotherapists have received their influenza vaccinations.

Your Home

We request that consultations be limited to just the physiotherapist, the client, and a maximum of one other, in order to minimise additional contacts.

You MUST advise us via telephone PRIOR to your session if:

  • You are feeling unwell, or have been unwell within 14 days of your scheduled consultation.
  • You have been instructed to self-isolate.
  • You have been in contact with a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19 within 14 days of your scheduled consultation.

We reserve the right to postpone face-to-face treatment if you fail to abide by the above policies. Alternate treatment, via telehealth will be offered to those unable to receive face-to-face treatment.
